Desk breaks in your chair

Not every break allows a mat. These poses are done sitting in a steady chair, so they fit between meetings or at the end of a long stretch of typing.

How to use this

  • Use a chair without wheels, and sit toward the front edge with both feet on the floor.
  • One or two poses every hour or so fits a working day more easily than one long session.

Keep in mind

  • This is general information about movement, not medical advice.
  • Move within a range that feels comfortable. Stop if anything hurts, and ease off if you feel dizzy or short of breath.
  • If you have an injury or a health condition, or are pregnant, check with a doctor or a qualified teacher first.
